preliminary tast contents page
This is my contents page for my preliminary task. The masthead is placed at the top of the page with the page listings underneath. There is a picture to the side of the writing to represent one of the stores. The main storyline is then placed underneath with surrounding images. The two images of the model, have surrounding blue borders to make them stand out from the white background. I have stuck with the blue and white colour scheme throughout as those are the school colours.
preliminary tast front cover
This is my front cover for my preliminary task. The masthead is down the side of the left third so the audience will see it clearly. The main image fills the whole page and there is a pug to the top right hand corner. The barcode, dateline and price is underneath the pug. The main coverline is then place slightly to the right of the centre with the secondary image to the left of it.

On the right hand side of the page there is a main image in the centre and text above and below it.
first design for double page spread
The main cover line of this double page spread goes across the top left hand corner at a diagonal slant over the image which is behind it. Quotes are placed around the page representing the people talking in the interview. The main image is used as the background for the spread with text and other images over it. An interview with the people in the main image is in the bottom right corner but takes up most of the space.
third design for contents page
Three images across the top of the page. the two at the ends are slanted. A pug in the shape of a star is placed across some of the images to represent that it is part of the cover story. The masthead is in the middle of the page with another image to the right of it. The text of page numbers is to the left of the mast head with subscription box just underneath. The editors' note and photo is then to the right of the text.

third design for front cover
The masthead is across the top of this design with a pug underneath attracting the reader's attention. The main image is of 3 boys in a band, the one in the middle at a slightly bigger size than the other two behind him. The main coverline is below the main image as well as text and another image beside it representing another story. The barcode is underneath the main coverline with the dateline and price below it.
second design for front cover
This design as the masthead in the top left hand corner so the reader can see it down the left third of the page. The barcode is in the top right hand corner along with the dateline and price. The main image takes up most of the page so the images at the side overlap it. 2 images are placed down the left third with text representing them underneath. A pug is placed underneath the barcode and image and text beneath it representing another story. The main coverline is situated below the face of the model so not to draw away the focus from the main image.
